KCDB: SCHOLARSHIPS
Any individual or group wishing to make a monetary contribution to a Kittery School District Scholarship Fund must do so as follows:
A. Contributions may be made to either the existing General Scholarship Fund (through Traip Academy or the Traip Academy Trust), or to another existing specific scholarship. Creating a new scholarship fund with a specific purpose is also an option. All contributions must identify the School District and the Scholarship Fund to which it is being made. Contributions should be forwarded to the School District’s Finance Department. The Superintendent of Schools will recommend formal acceptance of the initial scholarship fund donations to the School Committee.
B. A request to set up a new scholarship may be made in writing to the Superintendent of Schools. The request must identify the Kittery School District, the amount of the proposed monetary contribution, the proposed name of the scholarship, the purpose of the scholarship, the method of determining the scholarship recipient(s), and the amount of the annual award(s). The School Committee will approve the establishment of all new scholarship funds.
