Traip Academy offers students the opportunity to explore and expand their learning so that

students may pursue personal interests and career aspirations, gain applied knowledge and

skills, and build strong work habits and character traits. Experiential learning opportunities are

one way to pursue and expand their interests while in high school. 

Wood Island Boat Building ELO at Traip Academy 

Sixteen students signed up for this ELO.  In addition to Graham McKay master boat builder from Lowell’s Boat Shop and Peter Stockless from Stockless Oars in York, two more volunteers joined us this semester.  As a result, we were able to complete the build of the first boat on June 6th.  The boat also traveled to the Piscataqua Riverfest on June 4th to be displayed with other small wooden boats built in the Seacoast area.
