EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION

Since July 1, 2024, the Kittery School District, in partnership with the Maine Department of Education, has been committed to supporting children ages 3-5 by enhancing educational opportunities, accommodations, and services for children with special needs and their families.

The Kittery School District Early Childhood Intervention Team will provide a continuum of support to ensure that a full range of program options is available. We recognize that all children have unique needs, and we are dedicated to offering evaluations and programming tailored to those needs.

This multidisciplinary team collaborates closely with families and local agencies—including preschool teachers, primary care providers, and community service providers—to create environments and programs that foster student success.

We continuously seek community feedback to improve services for families. Our goal is to inspire excellence in early childhood education.  A strong early education experience for all children leads to success in school through graduation and benefits children and families now and well into the future.
